One of the dinners was for the fourth year in a row! Our partnership with The Sinegal Family and Friends at Wailea Point is always a party we look forward to hosting; but this year was extra special because Mr. Sinegal has retired as CEO of Costco. (And we wish him nothing but good luck and aloha as this new chapter in his life unfolds!)

The celebratory night started out with an Appetizer Station of Kamuela Tomato Bruschetta, Warm Artichoke Dip with Toasted Crostini, Traditional Beef Sliders, Seared Ahi with a Caponata Relish of eggplant, olives, pinenuts and basil and Crab Cakes with Mango Salsa.

The 13 guests also dined on a Dinner Station that featured a Caesar Salad with Chef Lee’s creamy homemade Caesar Dressing and croutons, lemons, bacon pieces and parmigiano-reggiano, a Goat Cheese and Tomato Salad, Baked Chicken with Sage-Gorgonzola Sauce, Hawaiian Island Marinated Grilled Angus Beef, Mashed Potatoes, Fresh Vegetables and our fresh Bread Basket.

The other NYE party we catered was special as well – as it was also a Birthday Party! The party was located at an adorable cottage with a beautiful ocean view. The 10 close family and friends celebrated at one royal table with champagne, wine, music and a great dinner that started out with Stilton, Mango and Watercress on Savory Shortbread, Bacon Wrapped Ginger Soy Scallops and Grilled Lamb Chops with mint & basil pesto.

Next was the Tomato Salad with Hawaiian Goat Cheese, olive oil, balsamic and fresh Basil followed by Duck Confit (a special client request) served with roasted potatoes and Fresh Vegetables and Fresh Bread.

They  topped the night off with our Lava Lava Cake and Tahitian Vanilla Creme Anglaise.

The bride and groom chose to keep the party casual with an all appetizer menu. The 40 guests dined on our Avocado and Prawn Corn Cakes, Sweet and Sour Caramelized Maui Onion and Goat Cheese Tartlet, Chicken Satay with Peanut Sauce, Chef’s Caesar Salad, Grilled Lamb Chops with a Mint & Basil Pesto, Kalua Pork Sliders, Tarragon Seasoned Fries with a Truffle Mayonnaise (so good!) and Chef’s speciality selection of Pizzas on Sesame Flat bread.

After all our delicious appetizers they were ready for dessert!

The dessert station included French Macaroons, Mini Cheesecakes served in shot glasses and Chef’s famous Creme Brulee.

On December 3 we catered at a private resident in Haiku. The clients had attended a previous dinner we had catered and enjoyed it so much they asked us to cater their Holiday Party!

The house was magnificently decked out for Christmas and the holiday music was on!

The 32 guests dined on Zucchini Rolls with Hawaiian Herbed Goat Cheese and Roasted Red Pepper, Ahi Poke with Wasabi and Ginger and Vegetable Tempura with Chef’s Green Goddess Sauce. (A big hit at the party!)

The second course featured Butter Lettuce and Greens with Citrus Vinaigrette, Roasted Almonds and shaved Parmesan. The main course followed with a duo plate of Filet Mignon topped with a Mushroom Bordelaise Sauce & Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi with a Citrus Glaze and Sweet Potato Hash Browns and a Green Bean Bundle.

To finish the night off we served our famous Lava Lava Cake with Tahitian Vanilla Creme Anglaise and a dozen of chef’s homemade Holiday Peppermint Cupcakes along with Kona Coffee.

Later in the month we catered 2 dinners for  VIP repeat clients at the Wailea Beach Villas. This very special family is always a joy to work for and we look forward to having them back next year!

The busy holiday season proves that  even though Aloha Events Catering caters Maui’s fair share of weddings, we also specialize in intimate dinners, private parties and so much more!

Candy Buffet

Having a candy table is a chic and whimsical addition to any reception. Follow your color scheme and add height and depth with different vases and canisters to add life to the table. Make sure to remember scoopers, tongs and baggies for a one-of-a-kind DIY sweets station.

Live Music Serenades

We are so fortunate to have so much talent jam packed on one little island. We’ve seen ukeleles, guitars, harps, violins, drums etc. Whatever your musical instrument of choice –  you can find someone here to play.  Adding the human element during your ceremony and cocktail hour provides that perfect ambiance.

This is the cutest idea! We love offering your guests colorful, in-expenive flip flops. (Or “slippers” as we call them here on Maui.) We all appreciate those beautiful high-heels that match perfectly with our dress and how great those black and shiny dress shoes look with a tux –  but we all know how these feel 3 hours into the night! With these on hand you can kick off the squeeze and dance the night away in these!

Photobooth Fun

With Accessories!

Adding a DIY photobooth at the reception provides you with some hysterically unique and personal wedding photos. We especially love the mustaches on a stick and quote chalkboards!  But wigs, feather boas, crowns, big plastic glasses, clown noses and leis will also contribute to the fun! Go crazy – you can never have enough props!

The couple chose to start their 5 course meal with one of our favorite pupus: Smoked Mozzarella wrapped in Phyllo with a Honey and Fig Drizzle, the Garlic Roasted Shrimp Cocktail, Chicken Satay with Spicy Peanut Sauce and the Hawaiian Style Beef Sliders.

Then it was on to another house favorite: Butternut Squash Ravioli with a Browned Sage Butter.

Guests could choose from either Filet Mignon with a Maui Onion and Red Wine Reduction or Seared Mahi Mahi with Cilantro Butter and Garlic Lime. Both served with Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes and Upcountry Vegetables.

They ended the evening with Wedding cake and Cheesecake and our Kona Coffee Service.

The wedding guests started with our Kamuela Tomato Bruschetta, Macadamia Nut Prawns with Papaya Chili Dipping Sauce and Chicken Satay with a Peanut Dipping Sauce.

The couple chose a Buffett Style Dinner that included:  Upcountry Greens with Kamuela Tomatoes and a Citrus Vinaigrette and Parmesan Flatbread, Roasted Asparagus, Penne Pasta with a Garlic Cream Sauce, Island Style Chicken and Grilled Pineapple, Herbed Pork Loin with Hoisin and Ginger (So Good!),  and Fresh Bread and Butter.

For dessert they served Wedding Cake along with Cupcakes and our Kona Coffee Service.

Another great wedding at one of Maui’s most beautiful places to get married!

Take for instance, the “Anonymous Company” that came together from all over the world here in Maui and gave King Kamehameha II Elementary School in Lahaina a little facelift over the school’s recent Fall Break.

The volunteers put in a community garden, rock walls, irrigation, painted and landscaped the playground and surrounding areas.

They all worked so hard and sure worked up their appetites!

They dined on our Taco Bar which included: Grilled Steak, Chicken, Shredded Lettuce & Cabbage, Four Cheese Blend, Chips and Salsa Fresca. They were also offered an assortment Fresh Toppings: Cilantro, Maui Onion, Limes and  more Salsa Fresca. (Which was a big hit and is Michelle’s secret recipe!! Be sure to request it at your next event with us!)

It was such an honor to feed these volunteers that took time our of their vacations to give back to our community; proving that Aloha Spirit is every where!

The 24 guests started the night with our Zucchini Rolls with Hawaiian herbed goat cheese, roasted red pepper and chives. As well as our infamous Macadamia Nut Prawns with the papaya & chili dipping sauce  and the Crab Cakes topped with a roasted red pepper aioli.

The second course featured the Spinach and Kula Green Salad with strawberries, hearts of palm, walnuts and poppy seed dressing.

For the main course the guests dined on either Roasted Chicken stuffed with Boursin Cheese or Macadamia Nut Crusted Mong Jong both served with a side of  roasted red potatoes and grilled vegetable bamboo skewers.

A new twist on an old time favorite! This tower was created by our own Chef Lee. She can pretty much do it all! Dream it up and she will make it come true! Add colored ribbon to match and watch the kid come out in all your guests!
